Within this historic area, visitors will find the Kentucky Gateway Museum Center and its Old Pogue Experience, which tells the story of the birth of bourbon and features tastings of Old Pogue Bourbon. A number of restaurants and bars within the EDC offer a wide variety of bourbons, including Two Twelve Market, Kenton Stories with Spirit, O’Rourke’s Pub, and Crowe Bar.
The area also includes numerous historic buildings, community pubs, restaurants, parks, a hotel overlooking the Ohio River, public access to the river and pier, conference/event centers, galleries, gift shops, and ample public parking. And just two blocks south of the district is the National Underground Railroad Museum.
The map below shows the EDC boundaries in red, and common areas in yellow are where alcoholic beverages may be carried in public. Alcoholic beverages must be in plastic cups and purchased from a licensed vendor. Double click on map to enlarge or download map here.
